Use of Electronic Resources

The Toronto Metropolitan University Library licenses many electronic resources for its current staff, faculty, and students including indexes, databases, e-journals, and e-books. Access to these resources is governed by contractual agreements (licence agreements) with resource providers. The agreements stipulate that access to the resource is restricted to current students, faculty and staff of Toronto Metropolitan University. These resources may be used for educational and research purposes only and not for commercial purposes.

Resources in this database are generally listed by package, not by journal. To look up the permitted uses for a particular journal, search for the journal title on the Journal Search page. Usage terms are listed below each available provider for that particular journal. Click on the image for the usage terms to read more details. Our license terms for any specific journal may vary depending on the provider.

What can I do with electronic resources?

Please remember that violations of our licence terms by anyone can result in the loss of access to that resource for the entire university community. (The university has the right to claim contribution and indemnification from the wrongdoer.) If you are unsure about what you can do with a particular resource, check the permitted uses for that resource in our licence database.
